Aquaculture / Fish Farming systems
Holding Tanks
The container that houses the growing fish. Size is determined by available space, species, stocking density and desired farm output. Tanks can be rectangular, circular, or a “D-end raceway”, an oval shape with a dividing wall.
Algae Growth Tank
Used to grow algae as a natural fish food source.
Clarifier Tank
A settling basin, separate from the main tank and biofilter, that concentrates and removes suspended solids before they clog biofilters or consume dissolved oxygen needed by the fish. Additional filtration can further improve clarifier efficiency.
