In 2000, the MV Treasure oil spill off Cape Town oiled around 19,000 African penguins from Robben and Dassen Islands, one of the largest seabird rescue efforts in history. Our portable pools were part of that response, helping care for and rehabilitate oiled penguins from Dassen Island before their release back into the wild.
